Hello! My name is Nigel, and I am an 18-year-old classical vocal artist and multi-instrumentalist musician who is set to attend Northwestern University Bienen School of Music in the fall. I am pursuing a degree in Voice/ Opera. Originating from New York City, I attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, where I majored in Vocal Music. I am proud to say that I graduated this past June.
Music has been more than just a passion for me; it has been a lifeline. My journey into music began at the tender age of 9 when I discovered my love for singing. I immediately found my place in a community choir, where the choir gave me vocal confidence and training and paved the way for my involvement in theater, where I truly embraced the joy of performing.
Since starting high school, I have found solace and joy in creating and sharing music. Whether performing in numerous school concerts, musical theater, or operettas, participating in arts around my community, gigging, or composing my music, I have consistently embraced the role of an artist. Attending Bienen School of Music is a crucial step in realizing my dream of becoming a professional musician and acquiring the skills and knowledge necessary to make a meaningful contribution to the world. This journey will allow me to refine my craft, learn from dedicated teachers committed to my growth, and connect with other musicians who share my passion and drive.
