[00:03:52] The Theodore grad takes to fly out of the beer and says spit it out you freaking fly Gina Joe is a BC rain grad and apparently Theodore is her rival. Oh my yes, so they may love that one They go she gonna like that a lot

[00:04:16] Yes, you'll like this all right term happy hour some history coming here the term happy hour comes from the US Navy The term the first use in the US Navy during the 1920s when sailors were given the time to wind down with

[00:04:35] Recreational activities and take a break from the toils at being at sea Wow. Yeah, so that's what we got happy hours So let me say this I have to share an experience right? Yeah, so we

[00:04:45] We had something similar that save you out to sea right you out to see over 90 days Right two things they did a few things they did if you ever did 90 days without seeing any land They would give you one beer

[00:04:59] The Navy will yes you get a beer they would give you a beer After 90 days, they could do yeah, yeah, yeah another thing they do they give you they call help

[00:05:10] A pool call they they get to a certain part of the ocean right where it was safe right and they let you jump in the water Nice, they would jump in the freaking water in the ocean. Yes. Did you I did it once which ocean the med?

[00:05:26] Huh a part of the Mediterranean Mediterranean. Oh wow. Yes, man. That's beautiful. Yes That's the travel through your eyes man. I you know what else too. I have actually swan

[00:05:35] I have is the is it swam that the way I'm swam. Okay from you can use any type of Okay, we can swing so just just something Just something I thought about Having been in boot camp leaving that boot camp becoming a sarswim a search and rescue

[00:05:52] I trained with Navy Seals so in training with Navy Seals. We had to swim. I was in Orlando So we trained down there in Florida So in that body award I was there in the Gulf and you know, I swim in it Wow literally some shark infested

[00:06:07] But we put they put bays what they call a net bays up. Okay. Yeah, so we swim in there some area But wow tested dude nice. Yeah, I can say that Shout out. Yeah Wow, that was a good one geisha highlight that one Listen y'all

[00:06:50] We'll need that much you'll need that much all right They heard it they heard it the effort was there right effort was there so yo the moment all right yoda So I was looking this week to try and get some uh

[00:07:04] Something to talk about to kind of get you with and a lot of the verses brought me to first Corinthians Okay, and I started the thing. I was like what is Corinthians what I was like, hmm who wrote that

[00:07:16] What where who was they talking to where where is it taking place? What am I supposed to get out of Corinthians? We are good question. So I'm like so can you break it down? Sure first Corinthians

[00:07:24] This is amazing because I again, I don't know what he's gonna ask it's blanked out on my paper Corinthians or they call it corns. There was a church, of course in the city called corns

[00:07:34] Paul wrote the uh wrote the letter to them. He the one wrote to corns Paul this is from Paul. Yes Paul the apostle used to be saw before he got converted right So god changed him changed his name from sardar paul

[00:07:45] Okay, he starts to write these letters to the churches right corns is one It's crazy about the the church at corns was the city the church was a young church It was like what they call a proselytized church. Okay. It was proselyte church

[00:07:59] They were like still going to the club. They were still struggling some people still masturbating trying to struggle in some people This is literally was like a 30 40 50 year old church like the the members right find a 30 or 40 or 50 year old went within that range

[00:08:14] Right historically, okay? Okay, so they were they were still out kind of one foot in the world One foot in the church still kind of trying to You know get this thing right right the church of corns trying to get this thing right so paul

[00:08:28] Was writing up these these uh multiple letters trying to get them straight like hey, this is what it is This is not this i'm trying to get you guys straight So they struggle with different stuff like they thought you didn't couldn't eat certain meat

[00:08:39] I want to bring something else up too. Sure how young they were You know how you had a last supper when you take communion, right? They did they use real wine Okay, right where they were young

[00:08:49] So what happened was he literally had to address the issue they got drunk they were getting drunk In church in what yeah, I suppose been going having you know communion like

[00:08:59] As often as you do this do this as unto the lord like in remembrance of me like the death of jesus christ They really they went over they were getting that being bent

[00:09:08] After wine he told he literally addressed it. He said drink. He said don't get drunk off it. He said don't do that Wow, don't sit there and drink the wine. It's for communion. Why y'all sitting there getting leaned on the wine y'all

[00:09:21] So that's why he had to write to the church. Isn't that crazy? That's crazy And that's the church and god love him just like he loved us and we got all these faults

[00:09:29] We still some of us the touching the world and we are we are we're not perfect. That's why I thank god for g Racee right Yeah, so that grace and the apostle of grace is the one that wrote that

[00:09:42] His nickname is the apostle of grace and grit paul. He wrote that to them. Oh really? Yes He was rough dude. He was rough. He when he was sorrow. He was dragging people out of bopsted and beating them that Whipping them to death like putting hands on them

[00:09:57] Literally, he was a terror Dragging them by their hair out the bopsted He was getting letters from the people the Pharisees in the sanhedra counter counselors say they over there and Lysra having bopsted to go get them pa saw

[00:10:10] He'd give the team of people they have a bopster to kick the dough in grabbing a jug of body Dragging them out of there stone them Because he was against it. He was against it and god called him and he changed and it changed it

[00:12:57] We normally ask our guests, uh, what your favorite NFL team was but you said you don't really follow the nfl But you do have a good role tied War eagle story. So can you finish telling that story for us? Please? Who do you follow? or arbor

[00:13:15] Anyone who knows me knows that i'm not a big sports fan, but i've got some friends that adore the sports So I try to cheer them on and anytime one of their games are playing I say go brown ball And uh so I got invited to a

[00:13:31] An iron bowl game one time and they kept trying to get me to go for years I'm like, I'm not gonna I know y'all love it, but I hate the fans the fans that are in your face and scream

[00:13:41] All their stuff. They scream in your ear. I said I said if I go they better not be screaming in my face. They said no, it's gonna be great. It'll be great So some of my really good friends took us we had a party bus

[00:13:53] Took us from mobil to tuscaluza. It was top class. It was very very nice Uh the campus was beautiful. No one screamed roll tide or war eagle in my face

[00:14:04] But everybody's like, well, what are you gonna wear? That was the biggest thing. What are you gonna look? They know That that's not my thing. So I had a great jersey made and it just says I just hope both teams have fun And everybody was so mad

[00:14:19] Oh, they were mad. I love them when I but then when I got there I'm thinking about the business aspect of it I'm looking man. This is a great racket. They've got chick filet. They've got state farm and I'm thinking about all the

[00:14:30] Money these people got rolling in by advertisements. I'm like, yes I'm looking at the pom poms And I wasn't gonna buy no pom pom, but I saw pom poms everywhere and then I secretly edit channel body But I secretly wanted those with pom poms

[00:14:43] And then I'm thinking what kind of money they're making off these pom poms. I'm like, man, this is great That is good idea. I got a two fold question for you

[00:14:52] All right, this is a high school segment. What was the dumbest thing you did in high school and who was the sexiest teacher you had in high school? Oh The dumbest thing and do I did in high school I probably can't say on the old show Well

[00:15:14] Coach old can say that all so I have I've had an orgy at my dad's apartment before so Okay Uh, I don't know. I was pretty good in high school instead of watching the football games I was always underneath the bleachers drinking with everybody

[00:15:31] I'm a little warmer drinker back then. Okay. All right. No, who's the sexiest teacher you had? Sexiest teacher I had I believe it or no. I can't remember his name And I think he was the leader of like the youth group and everything

[00:15:44] And I asked him out and he declined Oh really? Yeah, but I was a senior and I think that's found a pawn. So he's a good guy But you know what? I got to give you credit for your bonus. You even approach him like to ask him

[00:15:59] How did you know that his age the age he was age range? Because you were 17 I have no idea. I'm sure he was at least 28, right? Oh at least yeah He was super nice. Okay. All right. All right. This is all about the relationships

[00:16:16] Tell us about your co-owner and dad and your relationship with him Okay, my mom and dad are Are my I'm partners with them We get along great. My dad is my best friend Uh, everybody said I look like my mama, but I act like my daddy

[00:16:35] He's a me he's a musician And so I grew up in all the bars my whole life Uh, so I was kind of bored and bred to do this I love my job at the what for them. I wouldn't have a dream job that I have now

[00:16:49] We vacation together Mom gets mad because something will go on and me and dad will just look at each other We don't have to say anything. We had these conversations without talking

[00:16:59] Right, and she says what are y'all talking about and we're not saying nothing and we're just dying laughing What are y'all talking about? Are you a daddy's girl? I'm guessing. Oh, yeah 100% all right

[00:17:11] Name some of the famous people who've performed at vets over the past years over the years Perform gosh, we've had um Toby key. Wow Chris d'altry. Okay Bon Jovi tried to bon Jovi wanted to play he came in he even scouted it out the night before

[00:17:33] We had it set up where he could get on stage and get off But the fans went nuts And he had to exit So if these people wouldn't be gone crazy, they could have got a free bon Jovi show Wow

[00:17:45] Hey, did the Steve Muir band ever play there? The Steve Muir band? His band did not Steve, but the band did band did right. I drove them there Foreigner, that's right. That's right

[00:17:58] Foreigner not not the lead singer, but the band came in and they've all played with our old house band the family jewels We've had Anita Baker's drummer Wow, we've had Oh, uh, oh god the tramps they got up and actually sang disco and burnall on our stage

[00:18:15] Yeah, that's fine. We put some great bands like Neil McCoy Oh, yeah, it was good. Okay, so a candlebox candle box Their little guitar player stayed two nights in a row. He didn't want to leave

[00:18:30] So good time. This is an embarrassing moment segment. Tell us the the john l way story The sister story that you told us Tuesday. Yes So y'all know I'm not a big football fan

[00:18:43] Right, uh, we have my favorite. I love marty graff's because I'm busiest time of the year But my favorite out of all the conventions and any groups that come in is senior bowl, believe it or not

[00:18:52] I don't know anything about football, but these guys come in. They're very professional They don't hit on the girls. They just order their drinks. They thank you, ma'am They turn their backs on you and they're interviewing for their next job the next year

[00:19:05] So this is their career move So one year there's a guy in there. There's cameras going off flashes going off Wood not was wearing this poor fella out And they think you know, they're closing out. I'm saying, hey man

[00:19:17] I got a hat and some glasses in the back doing disguise or something They started laughing. I said, evidently you're somebody big in the football world And anyways, they started laughing. They opened their tab back up And somebody told me, you know, john l way

[00:19:32] I have no idea who that is But he was a super nice guy Oh my god, that's good. All right. So you mentioned senior bowl week in that in that too. Tell us about senior bowl week Tell us the atmosphere

[00:19:44] Senior bowl week is amazing. These guys they come in every year We've been at the February of the 27 years that beat us in there And for as long as I can recall We have been the Yeah Wow

[00:20:00] For as long as I can recall senior bowl has been my favorite group that comes in These guys are coming in the scouts the coaches the equipment managers I can't tell you the who's who of what teams and

[00:20:12] Then whatever, but I do know that they when they come in I recognize the faces every year And they're super super good guys that they're interviewing sometimes they don't get out of their interviews till midnight So we still open late for those guys Okay, wow

[00:20:26] They're just super well behaved. Uh, it's it's a great great week at beat awesome So this is the life moment segment Tell us the story of how you went from being a winning award winning bartender To posing for a police mug shot

[00:20:42] Okay, I did not pose for this mug shot. It was legit So I earned it In august The abc board sent somebody in and a young lady beautiful girl I complimented her on her beautiful blue top. I didn't have about five or six customers in the bar

[00:21:03] She looked over 30. I promise Never even thought of asking her for id never checked it And I served her a blood light. I remember that and when she left like five abc agents come storming in there like I

[00:21:18] Swat team or something and they said you served as underage. I said well, they told me who it was As long as you got me I said she was good. I said she looked 30

[00:21:27] They're trying to make me cry. He's like well, hand me your id open your extra And I did all that because there's a 20. There's a 20. She gave you right there. I said, yeah, um

[00:21:36] I told you I did it. Right. Give me your id. I said, I said your buddy your buddy's got my id I said, are you okay?

[00:21:45] So anyways, we ended up I had to pay I had to make an appointment with the abc board to pay a fine of $1,700 And then I They told me they would let me know when they found my warrant. This is in august

[00:22:00] So in february in the middle of marty grahl one of my cop buddies called and said hey, they found that warrant Like of course they so my one day after marty grahl I turned myself in I went to jail

[00:22:11] I did my time. I didn't I didn't let it hard on me I was there for three hours She sounded a little hard And I'm making jokes. I meant some interesting characters They finally after they finally took me they were bringing me out. I'm like, bye

[00:22:29] They were only fingerprint me. I had to come back in and I was like You had to come back It was a good time and they had this This asian lady comes in with a face mask on and she's fighting the fighting the officers outside

[00:22:45] And there's all of a sudden everybody moves the other side of the cell There's nowhere else to sit and I'm sitting there by myself. I'm like y'all are wrong for that

[00:22:53] Y'all are I don't know what I don't know what these people got put in jail for but it's probably because stupid stuff like that I'm so mad. So who's the lady comes in? Okay, go ahead. Was that

[00:23:02] A lady comes in she throws her jacket down things she takes her face mask puts it over her eyes and goes to sleep Put your feet in her from my lap She goes to sleep. So I was good. So I was good

[00:23:13] So who did you get how did you get the picture? Tell us how you got the picture on the wall So the mug shot I actually it's my actual mug shot And I've got a we've got a we have a wall of shame on the wall

[00:23:24] And I had a mock-up photo of my dad deep in the middle and it's got I've got james brown Elvis Presley nick jagger And they're like you gotta get your picture on the wall That's all I'm talking about

[00:23:37] It's legit and now all my customers now all my customers want their mug shots on the wall now Are you serious? Yeah, I'm in a little kind of place we're running but Evidently everybody's got a mug shot. You're

[00:23:49] Listen, you're a person of influence. Okay, so if you go to jail if Gina goes to jail, we all go to jail Now when I did go to jail, I did I did tell her about I asked for my mug shot I said hey y'all

[00:24:01] I said I've just got best bartender the year two weeks later. I got arrested for serving underage If we're in the middle of marty call check your IDs it happened to me it could happen to you

[00:24:10] Right. So I made positive positive spin on it. That's good. That's good All right, describe a typical day during the marty grout season as like as a bar owner and a bartender described a typical day Well

[00:24:30] You gotta see a people you got people ordering a vodka a gray goose and vodka Yeah, I'm like think about that a gray goose and vodka. What do you want with that? I just caught that

[00:24:44] Do you want that on the rocks? Do you want that you want a mixer and then I get mad? I say gray goose and vodka I'm like, okay Give you a great goose and vodka I'm gonna do it. Don't uh stupid up charge on that

[00:24:59] So that's the typical day doing a mighty grout It goes all I tell everybody they should drink the water eat something green Make it might be broken stretch before and after that's right

[00:25:11] And by the grace of god if you got a hot tub when you get home that always helps. Wow, that's the resume for going through marty grout But it's fun. We're right there on the route the parades go right in front of our business

[00:25:22] Um, we've got food places on each side get you back to eat come in and get a cocktail You pay five dollars you come in and out and do the bathroom all day long But I will remind everybody you must be over 21 and have a valid idea

[00:25:35] That's right. Gina jose. That's it. All right. This is our pet peeve segment What is something that pisses you off at about your job? People not putting stuff back where it belongs Ah, my girl. I love my girls

[00:25:50] We've had one we've missed kim's in with us for 19 years kelly's been with us for 18 years And when I go to get something and it's not where supposed to be when I'm busy Get a little mad

[00:26:03] But I'll go get it to the where it goes right that and customers move in furniture They want to move tables all out on the dance floor. I don't go to your house relays your furniture

[00:26:14] Sit down in the chair that alcohol they start moving stuff. That's that liquid curry Oh, and people and people ordering gray goose and bottles That was good. Okay. Here's a red flag segment red flag segment. All right. All right, so now

[00:28:14] Right. So how important is exercising your life and what type of exercise do you do regularly? Okay, exercise extremely important because i'm a bartender and i'm on my feet all the time. Uh, I work out four to five days a week I do a hit class

[00:28:30] I do a little yoga It's all about stretching a lot of stretching at the end of a shift. I'm always stretching a lot because it's Yeah, I'm very very independent. Okay. Good Blue bag music segment. Tell us why wet willy is your favorite band

[00:29:26] Wait, wait, wait, wait, we do a thing called chick fest. John anthony is in the band wet willy Yes, I did not know that He wrote keep on smelling Whoa, it's on the roadhouse too movie and every time you watch

[00:29:42] He gets along with that. I did not know that Wow John anthony We got a little thing called chick fest Uh, well my girlfriend bevel joe scott from belgium. She's one of the judges for belgium She and I put this chick fest together

[00:29:57] Uh, so she's from the boys in belgium and about an oh eight We put this thing together called chick fest. You know the guys get them all the time I remember chick fest. We need to put our own jam. So with all of our girlfriends

[00:30:08] So we have some amazing female singers donna hall's part of that every year Uh, it's a good it's a good thing We can we can the hall christ the hall family christmas show at least before

[00:30:19] Wow, what will it's great? I went to a concert with john anthony nor jones. See nor jones He's his birthday is one day later than mine. Okay. Yeah, I've known him for wow You didn't know he was a well, you know

[00:30:32] Rick harsh has studio h2o and elendall river. He's got a recording studio the guitar player They're they're great guys. Hmm. I had no idea. Okay All right, this is called the travel through your eye segment

[00:30:46] Got two parts first part describe of your favorite local beach on the gulf coast and to describe another place You've been that where you had to use your passport Okay, pence cola hands down love pence cold beach So you got the boardwalk right there

[00:31:02] You can get your bushwhacker up there at the dock and walk down getting the water pull off And you get to watch some crazy tattoos because that's where the military base is down there, right a lot of fun water the water is beautiful

[00:31:16] To passport for what to you see a beach Well any any places you've gone that you want to talk about that you had to use a passport. Yes Oh gosh, I've been to I go to Mexico almost every year to isla maheris beautiful place off cancun
